What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a familiar and natural state of altered consciousness we all experience regularly. We enter this trance like state while watching a movie, reading a book, or just before falling asleep. The brain waves slow down from normal conscious waking state of beta, to the more relaxed alpha state. Any time you move from an outward perception to an inner awareness, you enter a hypnotic state.

 

Hypnosis is a safe and effective alternative healing modality that has been used for thousands of years and in every culture in one form or another. The British and American Medical Associations formally recognized hypnosis in the mid 1950's.

How Hypnosis Works

 

When hypnosis is induced, a state of relaxation is reached in the conscious mind and body, which allows the  deep inner wisdom of the subconscious mind to be accessed. Positive change occurs at a core level - the level from which outer manifestation originates.It is a powerful and effective means of changing negative thoughts and behaviour.

The subconscious mind is the part of the mind that controls the majority of the functions - all automatic body processes such as breathing and digestion, all memories, habits, emotions, and instincts. On the other hand the conscious mind handles rational and analytical thinking, short-term memory and willpower - only about 10% of the mental functions!

Using the deeper power of the inner mind, hypnosis is the most effective means of achieving permanent, positive change in order to improve your life.
